Reading and writing are the two subjects that I am most excited about, and I love teaching them to children. I have been a credentialed teacher since 1992 and received my BA in English from UC Berkeley in 1990. Since then, I have been teaching in a variety of places (schools, community centers and homes) and to a variety of ages. I have two "kids," Emma and Sam. They are both in their early twenties and in college.
So, I only watched about three minutes of the State of the Union speech last night, and I learned about a new minority group -- the Hispanish! Apparently their math scores or something are on the rise. :-)
